Questions
Questions about ordering
The things people ask most often. If something is not here, ask when you order.
How much notice do you need?
48 hours on every order. Nothing is pre-made — each box is baked for the date you choose, so that gap is what makes the pastry crisp when it arrives.
What sizes do the boxes come in?
Two: a half dozen of 6 at $35, and a full dozen of 12 at $70.
Can I mix flavours in one box?
Yes, and most people do. There are two ways to fill a box: all one flavour, or any two split evenly. A six is three of each; a twelve is six of each. A box holds two flavours at most — if you want all three, order two boxes and split them differently. You choose at checkout on YallaBites.
What flavours are there?
Dark Chocolate Ganache, Raspberry Almond Bakewell, Strawberry Custard. More are in development — the menu is short on purpose and grows slowly.
How big is each tart?
About 2.75" across — a few bites each, which is why they come by the six or the dozen.
Would you call these petits fours?
In the classical sense, yes — sweet tartlets belong to the petits fours frais, the fresh ones made with cream and fruit rather than the tiny iced cakes most people picture. Ours sit at the larger end of that family at 2.75" across, so think a few bites rather than one. If you are after something small and French for a table, these are the same idea.
Where do you deliver?
From Allen, across the northern suburbs and into Dallas itself — up to 50 miles. That includes Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Richardson, Wylie and the surrounding towns, and further out to Dallas, Irving, Denton and Grapevine. If you are just outside the area, ask when you order.
How do I place an order?
Entirely on YallaBites. There is no cart on this site and no payment is taken here — the YallaBites store is the only ordering channel, and its calendar is the accurate one for available dates.
How should I store them?
Keep them cold and eat them the day they arrive if you can. The pastry is at its best before it has spent a night in the fridge.
Do you have a shop I can walk into?
No. The Tart Studio is a small pâtisserie working to order in Allen, not a retail bakery. There is no counter and no display case — every box is made for the date you choose and brought to you.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Delivery is the usual choice and what most people pick, but YallaBites offers collection at checkout too. Choose it there and the hand-over point is arranged with you — there is no shopfront to call at.
Can you ship tarts outside the delivery area?
No. Everything is delivered locally by YallaBites within the service area, and nothing is posted. If you are just outside the area, ask when you order — the edge of the map is a guide rather than a wall.
Can I send a box as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient's address as the delivery address at checkout on YallaBites. Boxes travel flat and cold and arrive on the date you choose.
What if I need more than twelve?
Order more than one box onto the same delivery date at checkout. Twenty-four was explored as a single box and dropped — several twelves travel better and give you more flexibility over flavours.
Why do the tarts look slightly different from the photographs?
Because they are finished by hand, one at a time. Fruit and almond are set individually rather than to a pattern, and the shells are pressed by hand so the rims are slightly irregular. The photographs show real product; yours will be arranged a little differently.
Is the kitchen licensed or inspected?
No, and Texas law does not require it to be. The Tart Studio operates as a cottage food production operation under Texas Health and Safety Code chapter 437, which lets certain foods be made and sold directly to customers without a licence or inspection. The owner holds a food handler's certificate. Texas requires this disclosure on the label: "THIS PRODUCT WAS PRODUCED IN A PRIVATE RESIDENCE THAT IS NOT SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENTAL LICENSING OR INSPECTION."
Do they contain allergens?
Yes. The tarts are made with wheat, butter, eggs and dairy, and the raspberry almond tart contains nuts. Everything is baked in a kitchen where nuts are handled, so cross-contact is possible and no product can be guaranteed free of any allergen. If you are cooking for someone with a serious allergy, please ask before you order.
