Returns policy
Everything here is fresh food, made to order for the date you pick. That rules out returns and exchanges — and it is also why a box that arrives wrong gets dealt with properly rather than argued about.

The short version
The Tart Studio does not accept returns or exchanges, and does not offer refunds for a change of mind. This applies to every product, in the United States, with no return window and no return method, because there is nothing that can be sent back.
Separately, and without exception: if an order arrives wrong, damaged, or does not arrive at all, that is put right. The rest of this page is mostly the difference between those two paragraphs.
Why food works differently
This is not a stock policy borrowed from a shop that sells objects. Three specific things about this product make a return impossible rather than merely unwelcome:
Nothing exists until you order it. There is no shelf and no display case. Each box is baked for the date you chose, which is why an order needs 48 hours notice. A cancelled box is not returned to stock, because there is no stock — it is ingredients and a morning that were spent.
Food that has left the kitchen cannot come back into it. Once a box has been out for delivery, its temperature and handling are no longer known. Reselling it would be unsafe, and giving it to anyone else would be worse. So a returned tart has exactly one destination, and it is not another customer.
It is perishable, and quickly. These are fresh custard, fruit and ganache with no preservatives. They are made to be eaten within a couple of days, which is shorter than any sensible return window.
If something is wrong with your order
Then it is not a return, and this section is the one that applies. Get in touch within 24 hours of delivery if an order:
- never arrived, or went to the wrong address
- arrived damaged, or in a condition it should not have been in
- was not what you ordered — wrong flavours, wrong count, wrong date
A photo helps and is worth sending, but nobody is going to be told their order does not count because they ate one first. The 24-hour window is short for a practical reason rather than a defensive one: after a day or two, no one can tell whether a tart was damaged in the box or on a kitchen counter, and that is not a position either of us wants to argue from.
Where something did go wrong, the fix is a remake on a date that suits you or a refund of the affected part of the order, and you get to say which of those is actually useful to you. There is no charge for either, and nothing needs to be sent back.
Changing or cancelling before delivery
Every order is placed and paid for on YallaBites, so changes, cancellations and any payment reversal are processed there, under YallaBites’s terms.
What is worth knowing before you ask: because a box is made from scratch for a chosen date, the closer a cancellation lands to that date, the more of it has already happened. Ingredients get bought and pastry gets made ahead. Ask early and there is usually a way; ask on the morning and there may not be. If a date needs to move, say so as soon as you know — moving an order is easier than unwinding one.
What this policy does not do
It does not take away rights you have under Texas or United States law, and it could not do so even if it tried to — a consumer’s waiver of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act is void as a matter of public policy, save in narrow circumstances that do not apply to buying a box of tarts. Nothing here limits liability relating to food safety, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
It also is not a rule about being difficult. If something has gone wrong, say so and it will be dealt with. The purpose of writing all this down is that you should not have to wonder in advance which kind of business this is going to be.
Allergens, which are not a returns question
These tarts contain wheat, butter, eggs and dairy, and one of the three flavours contains nuts. They are made in a kitchen where nuts are handled, so no product can be guaranteed free of any allergen. Please ask before ordering rather than after — see the terms of service and the frequently asked questions.
